Horse Racing at Monmouth Park

Monmouth Park Racetrack opened in 1870, and was host to the Breeders' Cup World Championships of thoroughbred horse racing in 2007.

The track's marquee event is the Resorts Casino & Hotel Haskell Invitational.The race was first run in 1968 as a handicap, but was made into an Invitational Handicap in 1981. It is now a 1?-mile test for three-year-olds run in early August. Monmouth Park also hosts the Jersey Derby.
